Carotid Endarterectomies

Carotid Endarterectomies is a procedure that is done to remove plaque from your carotid arteries. Your carotid arteries are the arteries in your neck that provide blood and oxygen to the brain. When these arteries become hardened and narrowed by the buildup of plaque, the diagnosis is Carotid Artery Disease. If the arteries become too narrow, it can cut off the blood supply to the brain and lead to stroke. Carotid Endarterectomies prevents stroke by removing the plaque that has built up in the arteries.
